Patrick Mahomes: Mis 10 esenciales

I wear it to pretty much any big event.

Kind of get to stunt a little bit on everybody,

especially guys that don't have them.

What's up, GQ?

This is Patrick Mahomes and these are my essentials.

[upbeat music]

My snacks. [bags crinkling]

Oh. Oh. Yep. There it is.

I have to keep my body in shape

so no one tell my trainer this or the Chiefs,

but I'm a big snacker.

I like to eat a lot of chips, candy,

whatever it is, especially at nighttime,

which I know is the worst part of the day to eat snacks.

I always grab either a purple bag of Doritos,

[bag crinkling]

which I just got on.

I used to be a Cool Ranch guy but now I'm on the purple bag

or I grab some gummies, like the Jolly Rancher gummies.

Green's my favorite flavor.

Or Starburst, and I know there's a bunch of debate

about this but the red flavor is definitely the best.

And I like the pink too, but red,

come on, let's end the debate.

[thumping music]

So the next essential is definitely sunglasses.

And you know me, you know I'm rocking the Oakleys.

Lemme go and throw 'em on for y'all.

This style of Oakley, I've kind of felt like it's like mine.

I went to the headquarters of the Oakley studio

right when I signed with them,

and this is like the first one that I picked out.

And I hadn't seen anybody really rocking 'em.

They kinda have that snowboarder type swag,

but at the same time I thought I could make it mine

and bring it to the football world, the athlete world.

Kind of covers up your face a little bit.

You can be incognito.

No one knows what you're thinking. No one can see your eyes.

And then the new swag that they got going with these lenses

and the frames of them, it's something

that I think I'm gonna rock a lot this season.

[smooth music]

Obviously it means a ton to me, what I do for a living.

To be able to have this, this is the pinnacle.

It's what you want whenever you step on a football field.

No matter if you're in Peewee football, high school,

whatever it is, your dream is to win the Super Bowl.

And that first one, that first one hits different.

I wear it to pretty much any big event.

But at the same time, it's something

that just means the most to you.

[upbeat music]

Another key essential that I always have on,

definitely gotta be the Mahomes Ones.

To have your own signature shoe

when you're growing up and you're watching

and you see Jordan, see LeBron, his, James Harden,

not a lot of NFL players have their own signature shoe.

A lot of 'em have cleats.

For Adidas to give me the opportunity

to have my own signature shoe.

They let me completely help design the whole shoe.

And for me, I wanted 'em to be a lifestyle shoe

but at the same time, something that you can train in.

Man, obviously with me I train all the time

and I wanna be able to run and cut.

Like, they're high top,

they're a little bit sturdier at the top here.

They got a firm bottom where you can really train in.

At the same time, you can throw 'em on with jeans,

you can walk around the house,

you could go out to eat with them.

Man, I definitely had to bring out kind of a one of a kind.

This is actually my wedding shoe that Adidas made for me.

I mean, you can see they got the diamonds on 'em.

Really kind of stunned with the light blue,

which is my wedding color.

So I'm sorry everybody, these are one of ones

and no one else can get 'em.

Yeah, the next essential that you always gotta get,

always gotta have.

Where did I even-

It's Brittany, my wife.

[chill-out music]

So my wife Brittany, she's the best.

She's more than my wife though. She's my best friend.

That's so nice of you.

No, and so she's definitely an essential

that I have every day and supports me every day.

I mean, personally, I don't think

you could get out the house if it wasn't for me.

Wish I had the kids here too

'cause the whole fam, you know,

we're always together wherever we go.

Yeah. And I feel like once you have kids,

they're the essential to your everyday life

and without them it's just weird.

Very weird.

[calm music]

A real important essential to me is definitely my bracelets.

And I think y'all see it.

And when I'm playing every game,

every commercial that I shoot,

I always have these bracelets on.

These bracelets were given to me by kids.

There's a couple of 'em that aren't here anymore.

But I just want them to know that their impact

is still made in my life every single day.

It's super important to me and I want them to know

and their families to know that they're out there with me

when I'm playing every single day

or when I'm doing whatever that is

or when I'm with my family.

And it truly makes me appreciate

every day that I got on this earth.

This is my newest one, it's called Battle with Aiden,

someone I met before this last season,

to motivate myself every day to be great for him.

And he's not with us anymore but we were able

to win the Super Bowl this last season.

So I'm just so thankful for these kids

and the impact they made in my life.

[upbeat music]

Another super important essential

for me is definitely my Whoop.

People see me with this band on a lot of times in games.

You see me with this little band on my arm it kind of

pokes out, especially when I wear the white undershirt.

That's my Whoop. It tracks my sleep.

It tracks my physical activity throughout the day.

It tracks pretty much everything.

I look at this app every single day

and I just try to see how I can better myself.

And when you better your recovery and you're in the green,

you have better days and you get the most out of 'em.

And so I just wanna make sure that I track

throughout the game days, workout days,

whatever it is, rest days, and try to make sure

that I can do whatever I can to have my body

in the best place possible to not only play football

but just overall general health.

[Patrick comically gasping]

The next essential. Biosteel, hydration drink.

Someone who works out all the time like me,

you gotta make sure you stay hydrated.

Man, they got so many great flavors, no sugar.

One of the healthiest drinks that I've had

that still tastes great.

And I think even more important in keeping me hydrated

is definitely that my daughter loves Biosteel.

And so we always have to have it on us

because if I don't want it,

she's gonna want it at some point

and you always gotta keep the daughter happy.

[relaxing music]

If you know me, you know my hair,

and Head and Shoulders is what makes my hair what it is.

It helps keep my hair not only clean

but this dangling little curls that I have.

And so it's something that I use

every single day, twice a day most times.

And it keeps my hair just the way it is.

No other product, no other anything like that.

So if you're going for my haircut,

make sure you get a barber to do the sides

and Head and Shoulders on top

and you're gonna be looking just like Pat Mahomes.

The next essential, something you have every single day.

I think everybody has it, but gotta be the cell phone.

You know on social media,

I'll throw a few jokes here and there.

I try to stay in tune to the fans and my friends

and family and everything like that.

Man, I see everything.

I think people notice that by how I play the game.

I see everything and I try to use that as fuel

to go out there and be who I am.

And look at that daughter right there, so.

You gotta always remind what it's all about.
